25 to 75 Years

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Customers over 75 years are eligible to rent with the following specific conditions:

-You will need to provide a current letter from your doctor to state you have been in good health.

Travel Restrictions

Hertz vehicles may be driven into Northern Ireland with no restrictions.

Hertz vehicles may be driven into the U.K. Mainland but not into other countries.

If driving into the UK Mainland, you must purchase a supplementary "Breakdown Insurance" (provided by the AA):

The AA will only cover residents of Ireland travelling to the UK in a hire vehicle providing they are returning the vehicle back to Ireland.

Non-Ireland residents cannot purchase this cover, so therefore if they decide to travel to the UK mainland will be liable for all costs to repatriate the vehicle back to Ireland in the event of a breakdown or an accident.

Should these restrictions be ignored all insurance (Third Party Liability, CDW, TP, PAI, Super Cover), if accepted, shall be deemed, null and void. The driver will be held fully responsible in case of accidents and will bear all consequences, including the cost of repatriation of the damaged vehicle.

If you intend to drive into Central London, please be aware of Lower Emission Zones.
